Celebrating Week of the Young Child (April 23rd -27th)

The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, and families. St. Peter's will be participating with themed days throughout the week of April 23rd-27th.

Music Monday

Through music, children develop math, language, and literacy skills - All while having fun and being active! Take this opportunity to connect through songs, dancing, and celebrating joy.

Tasty Tuesday

This fun, food-themed day is about more than just cheese and crackers. Cooking together connects math with literacy skills, science, and more. With the rise in childhood obesity, you can encourage healthy nutrition and fitness habits at home and in the classroom.

Work Together Wednesday

When children build together they explore math and science concepts and develop their social and early literacy skills. Children can use any building material—from a fort of branches on the playground to a block city in the classroom, or a hideaway made from couch pillows at home.

Fit Family Fun Night

This year, our celebration lines up perfectly with Every Kid Health Week! As an Ohio Healthy Program, St. Peter's has historically hosted a Fit Family Fun Night to promote healthy food choices and active habits. Come join us for an evening of delicious healthy food, family games, and engaging activities.

Artsy Thursday

Children develop creativity, social skills and fine motor skills with open-ended art projects where they can make choices, use their imaginations, and create with their hands. On Artsy Thursday celebrate the joy and learning children experience when engaged in creative art making. Use any materials—from crayons to paint, clay to crafts!

Family Friday

Engaging and celebrating families is at the heart of supporting our youngest learners. NAEYC applauds family members’ role as young children’s first and most important teachers. Join us in your child's classroom to participate in our daily activities or even just observe! Family is a child's first teacher.

Trike a Thon

Each year, St. Peter's Child Care participates in the St. Jude Trike a Thon, promoting bike safety in young children and raising funds for the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. We encourage all families to donate and to join us Friday morning from 9:30am-11:30am.
